Sensory processing of children and students with autism spectrum disorder and typical development in relation to gender and age

Introduction. Sensory processing is a neurobiological process in which person uses their senses, sends information to an appropriate reception and center, responds environmental stimulations. Previous research has shown that sensory difficulties are more common among people with autism spectrum disorder than of the typical population. Objectives. The aim this paper was determine patterns subjects population disorder, as well gender age differences profiles these groups subjects. Methods. Using Child Profile 2 measuring instrument, characteristics were examined 120 both genders, 60 development, ages three 13 years 11 months. Results. obtained results show there between two respondents occur all nine subscales instrument. It found autismspectrumdisorder hadmore difficulty compared population, especially domain tactile perception. also quality improved age. In relation respondents' gender, significant total score favor boys, but not observed measurements on subscales. Conclusion. accordance above findings, when creating individual educational plan, it necessary take into account specifics children disorder.
